The main focus of the diet is to lower the total count of dietary fat, particularly saturated fats, lower the caloric intake based on RDA limits, lower the dietary cholesterol, lower your sodium levels and increase the consumption of complex carbohydrates and fiber.

You should be aware of the fact that it is highly discouraged for you to engage within fad diets that have very low calorie counts. Instead, starving yourself will only cause your body to hoard fat just as a basic precautionary mechanism, not to mention that you are going to be most likely experiencing hunger cravings and pangs due to the sugar imbalance. Instead of starving yourself, it is much better to eat several small frequent meals everyday in order to boost your metabolism.

Overall, a cholesterol lowering diet is a good start to a healthy future.
